The Year you change direction
We experience many personal and professional transitions over our lifetime, some are planned, and others are foisted upon us.
Transitions can be caused by minor disruptions such as moving between jobs, starting a business or completing study; or they can be major traumatic events such as the breakdown of relationships, the loss of a loved one, redundancy, or a serious illness.
Some transitions cause us to question our identity, goals and purpose such as moving into midlife, retirement or empty nest. Others leave us second guessing ourselves and our beliefs, like aging bodies and changing friendships.
No matter the origin, transitions present a unique opportunity to reflect on what we have and what we want going forward.
Are you are stuck in the space between knowing that this is not where you want to be, but not sure what you are looking for? Are you tired of skirting along the edges of what you know is possible? Is there something that you have secretly always wanted to do but put it off because it wasn't the right time or didn't make financial sense?
There is a way you can mindfully negotiate these transitions, where you have time to think, prepare, be present, and reflect. In business, the term 'pivot' is used to describe fundamentally changing direction when the current strategy is no longer working.
